Author Jack Kassinger was born in Henderson, Kentucky, but spent his formative years in the small rural town of Livermore.  He joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam where he was wounded in action and awarded a Purple Heart.  After Vietnam, Jack served as a Marine Security Guard at the U.S. Embassy Rio de Janeiro.

Following his tour in the Marines, Jack joined the Central Intelligence Agency and retired as a Senior Intelligence Officer. During his career, Jack served in positions in Australia, Europe, and Africa. He was twice awarded the CIA's Intelligence Medal of Merit for especially meritorious acts beyond the scope of his position.  He also received the Intelligence Star for voluntary acts of courage in dangerous conditions.

After retiring, Jack was employed with a privately held company to manage security operations for the construction of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Russia, and the new U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China.

Jack currently resides in Texas with his wife, Cherie, and their children and grandchildren.  His interests include golf, music, travel and writing.
